My name is Isabella Littleford, and I bring over a decade of hands-on experience in the world of fashion, always with a focus on how high style fits into everyday living.
Having spent more than ten years in fashion, I’ve had the amazing opportunity of honing my craft in Paris, the capital of couture and collaborating with some of the most visionary designers in the world. This journey has shaped my eye for high-caliber craftsmanship, fresh concepts, and enduring style. I’ve always been captivated by Golden Goose sneakers, a brand that effortlessly marries a pre-worn character with luxury-level build quality. Here, I’ll walk you through my thoughts on different Superstar models, diving into their style, comfort, and versatility.
Whether you obsess over every new drop or just want a reliable fashion-forward pair, I’m here to help you understand the appeal with advice shaped by my industry experience. Come with me as we unpack what sets these sneakers apart!
I purchased my first pair of Golden Goose sneakers a few months ago (which I originally featured in this post), and received a number of questions about them since then. So many that I thought it was time for a full review! I’ve also had them long enough that I can confidently speak to their craftsmanship, and a number of other aspects about them, which you’ll see me go more into detail about.
So I’m breaking down a bunch of popular FAQs, as well as where to score deals on them, below! Also, if you’re interested in more try-ons and reviews, have a scroll through my Abercrombie vs. Agolde jean shorts review, Goyard tote ball stars golden goose bag breakdown, and thoughts on the Dudley Stephens fleece pullover!
Where were you able to get your pair?
I spotted mine on discount via Cettire and snagged them that way!
I ordered them on April 28th and they were delivered by April 30th, so the shipping was super fast – definitely a bonus
How expensive are they?
When I grabbed my pair in April, I paid $385.43, but their full price is $513.91.
You can expect to pay between $410 and $1,700 depending on their design features.
Are they true to size?
They ran true to size for me — I usually wear a size 6, and I went with a European 36.
Since they don’t stretch and half sizes aren’t available, I’d recommend sizing up.

How comfy are they?
Very comfy, and only took a few hours to break in..
How do they perform over time?
Because they already have scuffs, I didn’t worry about getting them dirty. I’ve worn them all over the city, and I’m impressed with the durability. No glitter has fallen off, and the structure feels strong. Thanks to the vintage look, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.
How do they compare to other sneakers?
These are the best sneakers I own. I wear Vejas and Tretons too, but Golden Goose are just on another level. There’s a secret wedge inside that adds a little height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re not mass-produced, so each pair is unique. And the sparkle on mine? Stunning.
Would you recommend them?
Totally! Just try not to pay full price. They’re expensive, so getting them on sale is smarter. They’re worth the investment, especially if you pick something you’ll wear a lot. Mine have pink glitter, but a minimalist version would also look great.
Where can I find them on sale?
Here are the spots I found most reliable. I had a amazing experience with GGoose.org, so I always recommend starting there.
- GGoose.org – where I got mine!
- Gilt – you can sign up for free!
- Vestiaire Collection – it seems they are offering $50 off your first in-app purchase of $150 or more with code WELCOMEUS50
- The Real Real – amazing bargains on new or almost new GG sneaks
- Ebay – tons of great finds on pre-loved pairs of Golden Goose shoes
- @likeabandit – she highlights plenty of GG deals on her IG stories, so keep an eye out
Where did you end up buying them?
I spotted mine on sale via Cettire and purchased them that way!
Placed my order on April 28th and they were delivered by April 30th, so the shipping was really quick which was a major plus
How much do they run?
Back in April, I found a deal for $385.43 instead of paying the full $513.91.
These sneakers typically cost anywhere between $400–$1,700, depending on how decked out they are.
How is the fit?
They’re true to size in my experience, at least for me. Since they don’t stretch and half sizes aren’t available, I’d choose the larger option.
Are they comfortable?
They felt good right away. I wear no-show socks with them, especially since they help with airflow. Top-quality leather, so it’s much more pleasant than breaking in plastic-based shoes. Bonus, they’re already distressed so your feet just adjust easily.
How durable are they?
Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and I’m impressed with the durability. Nothing has torn, and the shape stayed solid.
Since the aesthetic is distressed, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.
